Governor Asa Hutchinson and Secretary Smith Confirm 87 New Cases of COVID-19 for a Total of 830 Confirmed Cases in Arkansas as of 1:30 pm as of April 5, 2020. Sixteen (16) Total Deaths and 2 Deaths from Cleburne County in Greers Ferry, 1 Death from Van Buren County in Fairfield Bay, and 1 death at White River Medical Center in Batesville in Independence County. At the time of this press Conference, the total was 830 (114 are health care workers), it breaks out as 2.4% children under the age of 18, 6.6% age 18-24, 29.6% age 25-44, 34.9% age 45-64, 26.4% over 65, (60% are women, 40% are men) and 67 Hospitalized, 27 ICU Patients and 60 are in nursing homes. 96 people have recovered. A total of Sixteen (16) Deaths reported with COVID-19 two of deaths from Greers Ferry in Cleburne County, one death from Fairfield Bay in Van Buren County, one death at White River Health Center in Batesville in Independence County. The state’s death toll now stands at 16. Of the Total Deaths, there were 12 over 65, 4 under 65 according to Dr. Nate Smith with the Arkansas Department of Health.
