Democratic Party of Arkansas Chairman Will Bond released a statement today correcting misleading information in an attack launched by the State Republican Party earlier in the day.
Statement from DPA Chairman Will Bond:
“That’s a fundamental difference then between Republicans and the responsible leaders that are Arkansas Democrats. Democrats provided the largest tax cut in state history, and want to continue it with another cut to the grocery tax. That’s a tax cut that helps everyone. But Republicans’ idea of tax cuts for ‘working people’ are only for those people making more than half-a-million-dollars a year while the rest of us wind up carrying a bigger percentage of the tax burden.
“Democrats believe every Arkansan should benefit from tax cuts, but Republicans are only interested in those earning more than a half-million-dollars a year. They label it partisanship to call them out on bad ideas and to tell the consequences of their agenda. I just call that telling people the truth.”
