Battery Charge Results in 12 Year Sentence

A Searcy County man has been sentenced to the Arkansas Department of Correction for Battery.
Bradley Loggins, age 41, was arrested on July 12, 2009 by Sheriff’s Deputies and charged by Twentieth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Marcus Vaden with 1 count of First Degree Battery for shooting a man on Red Bluff Road in Searcy County.
Loggins went to the victim’s residence and a physical altercation ensued between the two men. After both men were on the ground, Loggins released the victim and went to his vehicle where he retrieved a Ruger .357 single action revolver. He returned and fired one round point black into the victim’s abdomen. After the shooting, Loggins told witnesses to call 911 and then drove himself to the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office where he surrendered to authorities.
On September 10, 2009, Loggins entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to 12 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction with an additional 96 months Suspended Imposition of Sentence.
