JONESBORO- First District Congressional Candidate Chad Causey called for a 10 percent cut in congressional pay today, announcing that he would introduce a bill to make these cuts when elected to office.
“While American families have seen their wages go down, members of Congress have seen their pay go up while federal spending continues to grow. It’s time for Washington to stop spending and start helping everyday Arkansans,” Causey said. “That’s why, if elected, I will introduce a bill to cut congressional pay by 10 percent.”
Causey also called for a change in the way Congress votes on their pay increases each year, saying the increase needs to be an up or down vote by itself, not hidden in a large appropriations bill.
“We need people in Washington who are ready to stand up for hard-working families and lead by example,” Causey said. “I’m ready to stand up for Arkansas families and get to work reducing our national debt and reigning in the out of control spending.”
Chad Causey is running for Congress in the First District of Arkansas and is ready to get to work for Arkansas families by creating jobs right here in Arkansas, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and bringing fiscal responsibility back to Washington.
