LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Diamond State Chorus will present its 36th annual show entitled “It’s a Brand New Day!” on Saturday, July 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the University Theater located on the UALR campus, at 2801 University Avenue, Little Rock.
The Diamond State Chorus, under the direction of Don Snow, is the premier performance group of the Greater Little Rock Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Chorus has entertained audiences for over 50 years in the central Arkansas area, and unites enthusiastic male voices dedicated to musical excellence and family entertainment. The Chorus won the “Most-improved Chorus” award this year at the North East Division Chorus Contest of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Southwestern District.
This year’s show will feature the Chorus and quartets from the Chapter singing a varied mix of songs from several 20th century eras. The staging and costuming for this year’s show will reflect the Chorus’ more contemporary musical selections.
Our featured guest quartet on the show will be “Eureka”. This talented foursome won the 2008 International Seniors Quartet Contest in San Antonio. The quartet combines refined musical skills with an emphasis upon entertainment. The evening will please every ear, move you to laughter and tears, and provide terrific, “G-rated” entertainment for your entire family.
A portion of the proceeds from this event go toward funding the Chorus’ annual music scholarship, awarded in support of high school music education programs in Central Arkansas by recognizing and encouraging vocal music achievement. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the $1,000 college scholarship as well as a performance by this year’s winner, Georgeanne Yehling.

The Diamond State Chorus is an all-male, a cappella chorus that sings music from many eras in the uniquely-American barbershop harmony style.
