Its been a Year since Dan Fogelberg Went to Join the Leader of the Band

Dan Fogelberg’s birthday is August 13th. His music lives on and the work of his loving wife Jean continues to preserve his legacy as a truly great artist and musician.
Here is a part of a recent note from Jean to all of Dan’s fans:

Hello everyone,
Thanks to you all for your responses to the last Living Legacy newsletter, for sharing your feelings about Dan’s passing; encouraging my physical and emotional healing; expressing your excitement about the upcoming projects . . .

Listen to a sample of “Love In Time” – http://thelivinglegacy.net/loveintime.mp3
The “Love In Time” CD package is almost finished, “Clean Shaven” cover won handily in our poll, but there will be beard shots elsewhere for us beard lovers.

Some of you mentioned that you were thinking of making a donation in Dan’s name on his birthday, August 13th. So we will be offering a 3/4″ lapel pin (about the size of a small lapel pin, tie pin, or small earring) that will be on sale at the PCF site (www.pcf.org) starting on the 13th. The pins are Cloisonné and will be sold for $10 plus shipping, all proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Click here. The 3/4″ size will be a limited edition of 5,000. We may decide to do a 1″ version one of these days, but we wanted to start with something subtle that men could wear on a suit lapel or tie.

When we receive the pins, we will post a photo of the actual pin on the DF, Living Legacy, and PCF sites. On the PCF order page we will include some brief suggestions of what you can say to people when they ask about the pin, to encourage them to become more informed about prostate cancer, and to get tested.

Deborah has created a beautiful new MySpace page for Dan at:

The PCF has told me that “your story is the most powerful message”, so I would like to add a section devoted to caregiver stories. So if you have been, or are, a caregiver and would like to share your experience in hopes of helping other caregivers, we’d like to hear from you. Only your initials will be used, unless you specify otherwise. If you are currently ill and being cared for by a loved one, we’d like to hear your story as well, and what effect your caregiver has had in your life. You can send your story to The Living Legacy Net. Click here.

That’s all for now. Until next time,

“Let your faith be your strength and your love be your guiding star.”
