SEARCY, Ark. – The Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre will continue its
28-year tradition this summer with a season of three comedies themed
“Fun With the Family” that feature the hilarious backwardness, rivalry
and teamwork that come with being part of a family.
June 10-13 and 17-19, “Squabbles” will feature the life of a happy and
successful couple, Jerry and Alice Sloan, after they have taken
Alice’s cranky father, Abe Dreyfus, into their home. But that home
becomes a comical madhouse of squabbling when Jerry’s mother, Mildred, is forced to move in after her house burns down.
July 1-4 and 8-10, “Dearly Beloved,” from the authors of “Dearly
Departed,” will follow the laughable plans of the Futrelle sisters as
they try to pull off the perfect wedding. But the real fun begins when
the bride and groom go missing.
July 22-25 and 29-31, “Nunsense II,” sequel to last summer’s
“Nunsense,” takes place six weeks after the sisters’ first benefit
show. This comical musical follows the nuns as they plan a “thank you”
show for all the people who supported them in the past.
The shows have been moved to Harding’s Ulrey Performing Arts Center on the University’s campus on Remington Drive off Beebe-Capps Expressway to accommodate larger audiences. The UPAC will open before each show at 6:15 p.m. followed by a dinner buffet at 6:30 p.m. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. each performance night.
Season tickets are $60 each. Individual tickets are $25, and show-only
(no dinner) tickets are $15. Online season ticket sales begin May 10
and continue through May 24. Individual show sales begin May 24
(online and box office) and will continue until the season is sold
out. To purchase tickets online, go to www.hardingtickets.com.
Tickets may also be purchased at the box office. Box office season
ticket sales begin May 17 and continue until June 10. The box office
is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more
information call 501-279-4580. Tickets should be purchased in advance, considering the shows have sold out for the past 14 years.

Ulrey Performing Arts Center May 4 at 7 p.m. No preparation is needed.
Those interested in parts for “Nunsense II” can schedule readings and
music auditions at that time for a later date.
