Description: Simply Southern Playhouse Music Theater at 201 E. Main will present the Turner Family from Mountain View, masters of Bluegrass Gospel Music and one of Mountain View’s most popular acts. The family includes father Garry, who plays bass and guitar and leads most of the vocals. Tasha, the oldest daughter, plays fiddle and sings. Tiffany, the middle child, plays banjo and guitar and contributes to the vocals—she has also recorded her own CD, Barefoot Bluegrass; she performs at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View with her cousins Lana and Landon Griffith and can often be found jamming with local musicians on the Courthouse Square. Titus, the youngest member of the family, plays mandolin and guitar. Garry’s wife Patty keeps everything in order, from making sure the family packs everything needed for road trips to selling the group’s CDs at their performances. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Seating is limited so early arrival is recommended. Music begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5, $2 for children 12 and under.
Many downtown businesses will also remain open until 8:00 p.m. or later, including Elizabeth’s Restaurant and the Batesville Gaming Center. 2nd Friday Downtown is a project of Main Street Batesville, with the cooperation and support of the downtown businesses.
