The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a Winter Storm Warning for over half of Arkansas. This warning area does include the southern counties of the KFFB listening area. Precipitation is expected to start in southern Arkansas before noon and push into central Arkansas in the early afternoon. The heaviest snow is expected to be on a line from Arkadelphia to Pine Bluff where 4 to 6 inches may fall. Amounts will taper off further north. The southern counties of the KFFB listening area, including Faulkner, Conway, White, and others may see 2 to 4 inches of accumulation.
Late Monday, an upper level system will move into the state that could bring 1 to 2 inches of snow into northern Arkansas. Temperatures will remain very cold during the coming week. Highs will struggle to get out of the 30’s and overnight lows will be in the single digits in some area…teens and low 20’s in other area.
